This site was designed in accordance with W3C, web standards, notably the directives concerning web content accessibility issued by the WAI initiative. All pages with a URL beginning “http://www.bgstar.com/” conform to level Simple-A of WCAG 2.0.

Keyboard shortcuts

This website has been programmed to offer keyboard shortcuts for navigation:

Combinations of keys differ from a browser to another. Below are listed the process to activate those keyboard shortcuts for the main browsers:

• Internet Windows: [Alt] + [keyboard shortcut], then [Enter]
• Mozilla, Netscape, K-Meleon, FireFox Windows: [Alt] + [keyboard shortcut]
• Opera 7 Windows, Macintosh, Linux: [Shift] + [Esc] + [keyboard shortcut]
• Internet Explorer, Macintosh: [Ctrl] + [keyboard shortcut], then [Enter]
• Safari 1.2 Macintosh: [Ctrl] + [keyboard shortcut]

Search Engine

The search engine results correspond to a "text only" extraction of the pages the closest to your query.

How to search

• The search engine enables you to look for content without using the traditional navigation method.
• You may only search on terms of more than three characters.
• The maximum length is 200 characters.
• You can use quotation marks to search for an exact phrase.
• You can search on several words. For example, if you enter "flu epidemic" as the search criteria, the search engine will look for all documents containing the words "flu" and "epidemic" or both.
• Searches are not case-sensitive and do not take accented characters into account.
• You can search on the start of a word by entering a " * " at the end of the word. For example, if you search on "mat*", you will find articles containing the word "maternal" and the word "material". There must be at least three characters before the asterisk.
• You can choose to sort the results by section or by publication date.
• Using the advanced search form, you can restrict the search to one or more main sections of the site. By default, if you do not limit the search, it is carried out on the whole site.

Navigating in Search Results Pages

Since searches can return a large number of results, there are a number of methods to make it easier to read the results available to users:

• Presentation of the results: at the start of the list of results the total number of search results, the number of pages and the number of the results page currently displayed are specified.
• Pagination of the list of results: by default, a maximum of 50 results per page are listed, but you may choose to display 10, 20 or 50 results per page by using the form just above the navigation bar for the results pages.
• Navigation between the results pages: a navigation bar at the bottom of the page enables you to choose the results page to display (using the page number) or to directly select the first or last page of results.

Navigating within a page

Quick access links

Links enabling you to go to the main navigation block, directly access content and the bottom of the page are just before the Sanofi Diabetes logo.

Their implementation means they should be useable for most technical aids such as voice synthesizers and Braille slots. These links appear when the main layout of the site is disabled using the browser options.

Breadcrumb navigation

The breadcrumb navigation is present on each page. It enables you to locate your position and rapidly go back to higher navigation levels.

Customizing the display

How do I increase the font size?

With Internet Explorer: go to the View menu/Text size and choose the desired size.

With Mozilla: simultaneously press the following keys:

• [Ctrl] + [ + ] to increase the size
• [Ctrl] + [ - ] to reduce it
• [Ctrl] + [ 0 ] to go back to the initial size

Applying your customized style sheet

You can view the site layout using alternative user-defined style sheets.

You can define an alternative style sheet using the View menu of browsers that support alternative styles:
